On Sunday morning the weather was great. We had our breakfast and decided to repair Giorgos’ Z. bike. Once the repair finished we packed, said goodbye to my family and started our planned trip. That started from my village Varia near Trichonida Lake, which has the largest surface comparing to the rest Greek lakes, as the big Prespa lake which is bigger is in the boarders of three countries.

The holiday of Epiphany on Friday attached with the weekend could not be left undeveloped, however the weather force us to adjust our expectations in a two days trip because the forecast for Friday was rains in almost all the country during hole the day.

January 1, 2012... The vigil of the previous night, kept me in bed until 11 am. Opening my eyes the first thought that came to my mind was, "Today I have to do what i really want to do all the year..." The next move was to call in Sakis. On the other side of the line I heard a voice which he tried with difficulty to articulate 2-3 words, because of the vigil of the previous night... After the traditional greetings, there was one question: "Let’s go a ride with our motorcycles? So to have a good year!!! "

From the half of the week I was talking with Manolis and Giorgos Z. for a weekend tour with our motorcycles. The destination until the last time had not been determined precisely, but we had some interesting destinations in our minds.

Finally after some phone calls we take the decision for our tour destination on Friday. We would visit Messinia, the place where Manolis lives, he had in his mind a route and it was the right time to share this touring experience with some friends.
Meeting place was set outside the village of Paradisia near Megalopoli at 11 pm on Saturday.

In search for freshness, as summer has come for good, we decided along with Sterianni and Michalis to visit river Acheron, as an alternate form of walk and tourism. Acheron is located 74km southwest of Ioannina in the village Glyki, near Souli.
Acheron river, from the word achos( means sorrow), Acheron – without happiness,river of sorrow, is from the most well known worldwide not so much for its size but because of the metaphysical content of mythological information that carries in its waters.

"It's a few times when returning from the trip, wondering if there are still such places in Greece ...". But let's take things from the beginning...

The last weekend of the spring we wanted to go for a trip. While we were on the verge of the summer, the weather did it again and it was rainy. Looking at the last minute weather forecast, we decided to visit the area of Leonidio in NA Peloponnese, an area we wanted to explore some time ago.

So, the meeting was on Saturday morning in Ano Doliana.

On the occasion of the Easter’s holiday Sakis invited me in Messinia. Good weather was not only the reason to take a trip to the region, with a final destination George Z. in Nafplion. Having made several trips to the Peloponnese, Messinia in particular, it seemed almost impossible to 'discover' something new ... But in the end of the day, our opinion has changed...

The weather forecast for the weekend of March 25th (Greek Revolution Day) was very encouraging. We are already in the spring –as the calendar showed-, and our mood is elevated. It was therefore almost certain that this weekend will not be left untapped.

On the occasion of the visit of Stratos in Kalamata, we decided to wander in the region of Messinia. The most popular attractions I had visited before. With the help of the map trying to find an alternative route that would give us the opportunity to wander in unknown parts to us.

The Malea's Cape is known since ancient times. It had been a long time since we had thought to visit the region of Mani. The last trip to the region had been about 3 years ago. The arrival of Sakis in the city of Kalamata for the weekend was only the reason to venture to the area of Mani and in particular in the eastern and southern part. The southern point of our journey abstained around 140km.

Easter’s days off constituted a good occasion for us to make a moto-excursion. With relatively brief processes the appointment was arranged in Kalamata, where we spent the night. Since a few days ago, spring has come … at least according to the calendar! The visit of Vangelis and Lena was the reason to do a small journey on the western Messinian region. Despite the fact that the weather rather ressembled a winter weather, the green fields with the blossom daisies made us –luckily- to feel the seasonal change. We decided to do a mountainous trip, crossing Lykodimo Mountain, one of the most known mountains of the Messinian region.

We are in the dues of November. The sunny Sunday roused us for an excursion in the beautiful Peloponnese. Before some time we had located an impressive way in one of the most famous mountains of Peloponnese: Menalo. The appointment was given in the city of Tripoli, while in the excursion participated members that assisted in the city of Kalamata. In our company participated also 2 new friends - except MRC- Christos K. (BMW 1200GS) and Spyros (Yamaha Fazer 600).

After enough time of stay in Messinia, we decided to explore a region in the north-eastern of the prefecture that borders on the adjacent prefectures of Lakonia - Arkadia. Its extension is between Vromobryseika Mountain and Goupata Mountain, in the north of Taygetos Mountain. Before enough time certain friends hunters had informed me for the particular part and they fired my imagination so much that I searched the occasion to visit it.

Afterwards the summer holidays, the planning of the first excursion of the new “season”, it was natural to be the subject of the discussion of the first automnal meeting of MRC. Therefore it was decided to become the first Sunday that the weather would allow us while the first rain this year made already perceptible its presence from the first Weekend of September. This day was not much late to come while Sunday, 20 Sep 09, seemed to be the ideal day for a ride with our bikes according to the bulletin of the weather which forecasted clouded over, but without rain.

In the middle of the summer temperature often is above 40 degrees. We though, decided, instead of going directly at the beach, to ride routes of mountain Parnonas. So, the appointment was set for Doliana (180km from Athens) at Giorgo’s, Viky’s and their youngest member of the family Kostas, place.
