Once again, our morning awake brought us to an unpleasant surprise. It was pouring outside! Of course we were dauntless about this, so we decided to pack and go. After a few minutes, we were already en route to Zell Am See, if we managed to arrive. A few kilometers far from Cortina, we passed by and stopped to a really beautiful lake, named lake ‘Misurina’. Last night the receptionist informed us about this lake. There’s a saying about this lake, that it was created by the tears of Queen Sissi.

Continuing our route, we ended up on SS51, where we passed through Winnebach and then followed SS100 up to Lienz (we had already passed the ‘borders’ and were already in Austria). We stopped at a gas station to purchase the well-known Vitenza, for the price of 4,3€, since our plans were to get on the Autobahn up to Vienna. Moving on and riding through SS108, once again we found ourselves stunned on the beautiful scenery. By that time, the temperature was almost 10 degrees and couldn’t go higher, since it was slighty raining. We kept on moving, until we reached the tolls of ‘Matreir Tavern Eius’ that we needed to pay (around 8€ each), in order to drive through a big tunnel in front of us.  Getting outside the tunner, we kept on riding through SS168 and after approximately 1 hour, we reached Zell Am See, at that exact moment that the rain couldn’t be bearable any more and kept getting worst. After some minutes of seeking, we found a room for 45€ per person, though the prices were fluctuating a lot on each hotel. Directly to the shower, dry up our clothes and quickly outside to the city.

At the restaurant that we stopped to eat, they informed us that every Wednesday during summer, there is a festivity called “music nights”, where various musicians in groups, gather up to the city’s center and play music for free, from 19:30 till the midnight. After enjoying a really delicious and huge portion each one of us, we got out to the streets to see the festival up and close. The situation reminded to Vangelis a similar festival in Greece, called ‘Anakatosaria’, a custom of Grevena. Every kind of musician, like classical, folk, jazz, orchestras, were setting up their stuff in various spots of the city’s roads and started playing their music, while the crowd was cheering them. Around the squares of the city, there were lots of portable beerhouses, so beer, naturally, was flowing a lot! There was lots of movement on the streets, from young people mainly, even though it appeared to be ready to rain again.

Keeping up with the crowd, we decided to enter to a small bar/club, named ‘Insider’, where it had gathered most of the people. We started chatting with some locals, where in exchange they gave us some more information about Zell Am See and its life. After a couple of hours, we decided to return to our hotel…Once again, our morning awake brought us to an unpleasant surprise. It was pouring outside!
