Sightseeing map

We woke up in the morning, we got our breakfast-fantastic and we decided before leaving the place to do one last ride on foot. A few meters away we were in front of the site Olympos, at various hotels, restaurants, tourist shops, etc. The area, it seems that relies heavily on tourism!

We returned from our ride, pack and began the onward journey riding with our motorcycles! Our course, east to Antalya with the road approaching the shoreline or sometimes crosses pine forests and always, on the left side there was the grandeur of the mountains. Passed some miles and the coastal city of Antalya began to distinguish ahead...! The Antalya is one of the most famous cities in the southern Turkish with commercial port and the population stands at 1,000,000. It is the city that marks the end of the "Lycian Way" and begins with the ancient state of Pamphylia. Unfortunately, too much traffic on the roads and the unbearable heat were the reasons that made us to overtaking it, crossing to the central and ignoring some historical and archaeological monuments on the Roman era. So we continued until the city of Aspendos (Belkiz) which is 30km from Antalya.

The ancient city of Aspendos (Belkiz), built on the banks of the river Eurymedon current Kuprulu, was the easternmost city of the Kingdom of Pergamon which was an important commercial center. The archaeological site contains the best preserved theater in the country that was built in 162m.Ch. by architect Zenon and it is considered the best of his era. The city Aspendos became famous from this theater and theatrical performances played on it until today!

We leave behind us Belkiz to visit Selge (ancient Selge) located in the natural park of Kuprulu and is approximately 55km. The trail area is fantastic, though with not so good road. Surrounded by pine forest and beside the rushing river Kuprulu (Eurymedon) to whom they have made "capture" small tourist shops, restaurants and shops with equipment rental rafting. Many tourists, sports enthusiasts have the opportunity to enjoy the raging river and live a unique experience! After a few kilometers, the gorge area Kyprulu Canyon made his appearance, with a stone bridge which has height 35m., over the river. Guests have the opportunity to rent a rubber boat to enter to the interior of the canyon and enjoy a 500m route. Especially ropes propel the boats to the opposite side of the flow of the river, even if sometimes needs a small push pull paddle. At the length of the river, formed about 200 small and big waterfalls which by own create small pools giving the opportunity for a dip in the icy waters of Kuprulu. Of course, lowering of the river is a lot easier as we followed the flow of it and creates the appetite for a delicious cooked fluvial fish.

Spending the time and look for a place to pass the night. The best accommodation that you could choose is camping, either organized or free along the banks of the river. A camping may be the opportunity to meet new people ... We were lucky in that, as we accepting an invitation from a company / association of Karaman who that evening had set up a small feast. Singing and dancing their "karsilamas" with our "Sirtaki", telling stories and exchanging experiences from travels. We had a very beautiful evening!
